Best Choice Staffing is working with a Catholic organization on their need for a staff accountant to join their team of 6 people. This person will report to he assistant controller. The position is located near Prospect Park off the F train at 15th street station. The right person should have the below skill set, have excellent excel skills. POSITION SUMMARY
The Accounting Office is seeking a staff accountant to perform all accounting, reporting and cash management functions for a number of entities within the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Produce and analyze financial statements for entities on a monthly basis.
Produce financial statements on an annual basis which will be ready for immediate and efficient audit.
Prepare presentation for meetings of Boards of Directors or trustees.
Perform cash management functions for entities to ensure that funds are fully invested for best returns.
Be responsive to information requests from both Accounting Office and Operations executives.
Write manual checks for applicable entities.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; CPA preferred.
Minimum of two to four (2-4) years’ experience in accounting field.
Knowledge of non-profit accounting.
Working knowledge of accounting databases.
Computer proficiency with emphasis on Microsoft Office, Word, and Excel.
Knowledge of the tenets of the Catholic faith.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Maximum organizational skills as well as ability to multi-task and prioritize accordingly.

AR Accountant, temp to perm — Posted 8/1/19

We are working with an international nonprofit on their need of some AR help. Join a team of 4 in this accounting department. Please contact Best Choice (jobs@bcstaffing.com) for further information. This is a temp to perm with a salary around $55k when perm.

1. Generate Invoices for membership(societies, consortium, associates and affiliates) and electronic books subscriptions.
2. Record donations receipts
3. Record all other cash receipts
4. Record and reconcile credit card transactions including subscriptions, donations and registration fees.
5. Record foundations and government grants payments 6. Handle bank deposit all cash receipts.
7. Manage subscriptions revenue recognition schedules.
8. Monthly Reconciliation of AR subledger to the GL.
9. Income accounts analysis and reconciliations.
10. Assist with annual audit
11. manage all grants agreements and income supporting documentation.
12. Recording of all investment accounts proceeds.

The accounting system is Intacct. The person needs to have strong Excel skills and if experienced with Intacct that would be a big plus.

The role is a 9-5 job located a short walk from Grand Central.
